Marketplace for Social Awareness and Social Responsibility

Founded on April 11, 2012, the Marketplace is a vehicle to promote and support programs, initiatives, and events that address the socio-political issues facing us today. Whether it is discrimination, bigotry, violence, economic empowerment, or educational disparities, our mission is to provide a mechanism for individuals to collaborate, unite, and effect change.
This Marketplace is for anyone who has an interest in fostering social awareness and social responsibility.  One key area of focus is addressing the issues facing our middle school and high school students.   We have a responsibility to ensure that we doing everything that we can to support them. We have an obligation to leverage our resources to assist them wherever and whenever we can.

Our Focus

As part of our social awareness initiative we have chosen to focus on:

  • Voter’s rights
  • Stop, Question, and Frisk
  • Affirmative Action
  • Reforming our Criminal Justice system
  • Disparities in our educational system
  • The American Legislative Exchange Council (ALEC) and organizations with similar agendas
